About the Keizer Turkey Dash

The course runs through Keizer neighborhoods and the Keizer Station area, starting outside the Lowe's at Keizer Station. The route is a neighborhood road course, and the feel of the morning leans toward Thanksgiving tradition. Strollers are welcome in the shorter distance, and leashed dogs can come along for that one too.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at the Keizer Chamber of Commerce, with race-morning pickup also available. Parking is in the Lowe's lot at the start. A post-race breakfast and celebration follows at the finish.

Common Questions About the Keizer Turkey Dash

Will I finish last at the Keizer Turkey Dash?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 36:25, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:26:13, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Keizer Turkey Dash a good first 5K?

A field of 239 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Keizer Turkey Dash?

The 5K winner ran 16:33 while the median finisher took 36:25. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
