About the Kal-Haven Trail Run

The course runs point-to-point along the Kal-Haven Trail State Park, heading from Kalamazoo toward South Haven on a path that trends gently downhill the whole way. The surface is trail, the grade is forgiving, and there are several aid stations spread across the route. Solo runners go the full distance; relay teams split the work, with exchange zones at various points along the trail.

Parking at the start is restricted, so most people leave their car at Center Point Church nearby and take a shuttle that loops continuously through the early morning hours. Packet pickup runs the evening before at Mitten Running Co. in Portage, with race-morning pickup available at the trailhead starting area as a backup.
