About the Just A Short Run
The courses loop around the lake on a road that closes to traffic on race day. The organizers are emphatic about running the tangents on that lakeside stretch, where following the curve adds distance. Several distances share a finish line near the boathouse, though the longest starts separately and merges with the field after an early hill.
Parking fills up, and the organizers push carpooling hard. The main lot has shuttles running to the start area before the gun. Packet pickup spans several days before the race at a running store and a cancer charity office, with race-morning pickup available across the street from the boathouse. After the finish, there is coffee, waffles, and cookies, with a DJ going while awards are handed out.
