About the Jungle Gardens 7K Trail, 5K Run & 1 Mile

The course runs on hard-packed road through Jungle Gardens, a preserved natural area on Avery Island. The surroundings are the draw here: dense vegetation, wildlife, and the kind of scenery you do not usually see out a car window, let alone on a race course. Several distance options mean you can choose how deep into the gardens you go.

Packet pickup is the evening before at Tri Running, a local running shop in Lafayette. On race morning, jambalaya is served at the finish, and the Tabasco factory is right there if you want to extend the day after you cross the line.
