About the Jones Gap Trail Half Marathon
The course starts on a short stretch of road before climbing onto single-track trail through Jones Gap State Park. It passes Rainbow Falls and works up to Little Pinnacle Mountain, with substantial elevation gain spread across the route. The terrain is rugged and the climbs are real, but the forest and waterfall views carry you through.
Parking and packet pickup are both at River Falls Lodge, just outside the park boundary, with pickup on race morning before the start. The race runs cup-less, so bring your own vessel. Aid stations along the way stock pickles, cookies, chips, pretzels, candy, water, Coke, and ginger ale.

How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
