About the Jonas Cattell Memorial 10-mile Run & Fort Mercer 5K
The ten-miler is a point-to-point course that retraces the route Jonas Cattell ran to warn Fort Mercer of an approaching attack. It starts in Haddonfield and finishes at Red Bank Battlefield, running through terrain that still feels connected to that history. The shorter option is an out-and-back that starts and finishes at the battlefield.
Bus transportation runs from Red Bank Battlefield to the Haddonfield start before the ten-miler begins, which solves the point-to-point logistics without needing a second car. Both races finish at the battlefield, where the awards ceremony is held. There are snacks, water, sports drink, and fruit at the finish tent.
