About the 12th Annual Veterans Haven 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk
The course starts at a church and runs through a county park system along the Cooper River. The path follows the river corridor, so there is greenery around you for most of the route. The race benefits a transitional facility for homeless and unemployed veterans, which gives the morning a purposeful feel without anyone making a big production of it.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a local running shop in town, with additional pickup at the start on race morning. After the race, there is a basket raffle and food at the finish area.
