About the Jolly10K

The course runs through mountain trails above Los Gatos, so expect real terrain: dirt underfoot, some elevation, and tree cover rather than pavement. Both a longer and a shorter distance share the same trails, and the route brings everyone back to a central finish area.

The gathering after the run is a deliberate part of the event. There are food, informational booths, resource tables, and CPR training from the local fire department. The race exists to open conversations about addiction and fentanyl loss, so the post-race space has a different weight than a typical finish-line party.

Common Questions About the Jolly10K

Will I finish last at the Jolly10K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 6.2 Miles field finished slower than 1:18:03, and the last recorded finisher came in around 2:19:05, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Jolly10K a good first 6.2 Miles?

It is a small race (89 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 6.2 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Jolly10K?

The 6.2 Miles winner ran 42:09 while the median finisher took 1:18:03. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
