About the 2026 Joey's Wings 5K & Bubble Crane Kids Run
This race runs on the grounds of a college campus in Gainesville, organized in memory of a child who loved to run and was lost to pediatric cancer. The foundation behind it directs proceeds toward research, treatment, and support for local families affected by childhood cancer. The course starts near the campus construction institute building, which also serves as the parking landmark.
The evening before, packet pickup is at a local running store. On race morning, onsite registration and pickup open before the start. Afterward, there is food from nearby restaurants, face painting, crafts, and raffles. It is a family-heavy morning, with a kids obstacle run following shortly after the main start.
