The course runs out and back along the Virginia Capitol Trailhead, starting from Billsburg Brewery. It is a paved trail route, so the footing is straightforward and the pace is honest in both directions. The shorter distance suits families and newer runners, while the longer option gives you enough room to find a rhythm before you turn around.

Packet pickup opens on race morning at the brewery before the first wave goes off. The post-race scene stays at Billsburg, and runners old enough to drink can redeem a beer ticket at the finish.
