About the Jack-O-Lantern 5K & 10K

The course runs on packed gravel along the Upper Bucks Rail Trail, heading south through Richland Township Veterans Park before turning back. It is a straight out-and-return shape with no real climbs, so the footing is consistent the whole way. The Pumpkin Challenge lets you carry a pumpkin the full distance and keep it if you finish with it intact.

The start and finish are on the trail, steps from the local fire and rescue building, which also hosts packet pickup the evening before and again on race morning. Post-race food from local establishments is set up at the finish, and indoor restrooms are available alongside portable options.

Common Questions About the Jack-O-Lantern 5K & 10K

Will I finish last at the Jack-O-Lantern 5K & 10K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 35:13, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:12:31, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Jack-O-Lantern 5K & 10K a good first 5K?

A field of 222 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Jack-O-Lantern 5K & 10K?

The 5K winner ran 19:12 while the median finisher took 35:13. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
