About the IRVINE 4th of July-Red, White, & Blue 5k & 1 Mile
The course is an out-and-back on flat college campus pavement, suited for anyone chasing a fast time or just getting the legs moving on a holiday morning. A Dixieland band plays before the start, and there is a singalong and opening ceremony before the mass start. Strollers are welcome, and the patriotic setup gives it the feel of a block party with chip timing.
Parking at the college requires a fee, paid online or at the gate race morning. Entrance is from Jeffrey Road only. Bib pickup opens early in the same lot, with a selfie booth and music already going. An optional pickup the afternoon before is held at Manassero Farms on campus. After the race, street tacos, tamales, specialty coffee, cookies, and fresh fruit are available for purchase at the finish.
