The race winds through Key West and starts and finishes at Irish Kevin's on Duval Street, so the surroundings are about as lively as a start line gets. The course is flat, passing through the heart of the city, with a water station roughly midway. Strollers are permitted but must begin in the last corral.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at a local running store, with race-morning pickup available at Irish Kevin's before the start. After you finish, there is a breakfast buffet and drinks on hand, and the race raises money entirely for local charities. There is also a food drive at pickup and on race day for a neighborhood pantry.
