About the InnerAct Alliance Red Ribbon Run
The course loops Lake Mirror along the Frances Langford Promenade, a paved waterfront path in the heart of Lakeland. It is a scenic, flat route, and the setting does most of the work: open water on one side, shade trees and park benches on the other. Grade-school students run in heats sorted by grade level, and families can join a later heat to run together.
Check-in opens early in the Lake Mirror Auditorium, and parents and children are matched with wristbands at that point. A couple of nearby parking garages serve the area. After the races wrap up, there are milk and cookies from a local grocery sponsor, and spectators are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to watch from the promenade.
