About the Independence Double
The course runs on a paved bike and run trail, flat and partly shaded, with out-and-back loops that bring you past the start area repeatedly. There are a couple of street crossings where you look out for yourself. The trail sees regular local foot and bike traffic, so expect company that has nothing to do with the race.
Bibs are available at the start location roughly three-quarters of an hour before the gun. The start and finish share a small pavilion with the aid station, where water, soda, and sweet and salty snacks are stocked. Parking is right there at the trailhead, close enough that you pass your car on every loop. Bring your own water bottle; this is a cupless event.
