About the Hope Center for Children Family Fun 5K

The course starts and ends at the Greek Village on a college campus, so the surroundings feel familiar and walkable rather than remote. The race benefits a local children's nonprofit focused on family stability and abuse prevention, which shapes the tone of the morning. A food truck is on site, and there are outdoor activities for kids after the run.

Parking is available at a couple of lots on campus, identified by street address in the race materials. Bib pickup opens on race morning before the start. Results are emailed out after the event rather than posted on-site.

Common Questions About the Hope Center for Children Family Fun 5K

Will I finish last at the Hope Center for Children Family Fun 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 36:54, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:02:42, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Hope Center for Children Family Fun 5K a good first 5K?

It is a small race (97 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Hope Center for Children Family Fun 5K?

The 5K winner ran 21:01 while the median finisher took 36:54. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
