About the Home Run for Recovery
The course starts and finishes at home plate inside a minor league baseball stadium, so you are literally crossing home plate when you finish. The routes head out onto the roads from there, with the stadium as both the launch point and the destination. The race benefits a local recovery center, and the cause is visible throughout the morning.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the Coulee Recovery Center on Ferry Street, with race-morning pickup available at the stadium as well. The start area is the ballpark itself, which gives the whole thing an unusual feel, and there is whiffle ball in the outfield for kids while the main races are underway.
