About the Holiday Bridge Challenge 5K

The course follows the Halifax River through Ormond Beach, crossing the Granada Bridge for open water views. Along the way you pass Fortunato Park and the Casements, a historic winter home that sits right on the river. There is real elevation on the bridge, so this is not a flat morning, but the climb is brief and the scenery makes it easy to forget.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at the Ormond Beach Family YMCA, with race-morning pickup available starting well before the gun. The start and check-in are both in front of Ormond City Hall. There is a post-race awards ceremony, and refreshments are out after you finish.

Common Questions About the Holiday Bridge Challenge 5K

Will I finish last at the Holiday Bridge Challenge 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 33:29, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:30:15, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Holiday Bridge Challenge 5K a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 289 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Holiday Bridge Challenge 5K?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 17:40 while the median finisher took 33:29. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
