About the Hogeye Marathon & Relays

The course rolls through city parks and neighborhoods before coming into downtown Springdale, a mix of streets and paved trail sections. It is hilly enough to keep things interesting but never brutal, and the surroundings shift from residential to urban as you close in on the finish.

The half marathon relay uses the same course as the half, so relay runners get the full route in pieces. Events are spread across the weekend, with a fun run alongside the certified longer distance on the final day. The race supports local charities, and that purpose is baked into how the whole weekend is organized.

Common Questions About the Hogeye Marathon & Relays

Will I finish last at the Hogeye Marathon & Relays?

Almost certainly not. Half the 13.1 Miles field finished slower than 2:18:05, and the last recorded finisher came in around 7:21:20, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Hogeye Marathon & Relays a good first 13.1 Miles?

A field of 672 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 13.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Hogeye Marathon & Relays?

The 13.1 Miles winner ran 1:17:22 while the median finisher took 2:18:05. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
