About the Hilton Head Turkey Trot
The course starts in the Boathouse parking lot, heads into Hilton Head Plantation, and turns back to finish where it began. It is an out-and-back, so the terrain is consistent both ways. Costumes are common, and the crowd leans toward families out for a Thanksgiving morning run before the rest of the day takes over.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the Island Rec Center. On race day, parking is available at a nearby church and at the Dockside and Hudson's lots; roadside parking is not allowed. Strollers are welcome, though they line up at the back of the field. The race also collects canned and pantry food donations for a local charitable organization.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2025 results, this is a big field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Hilton Head Turkey Trot has been held every year since at least 2019. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
