About the 2026 Heroes Run! 10K • 5K • 1 Mile Run
The Heroes Run benefits mental health services for first responders, including police, fire rescue, ocean rescue, and military personnel. Proceeds go to several local nonprofits, one of which offers confidential counseling with no paperwork required, and another that trains shelter dogs as service animals for first responders. The course distances are certified, and the event draws both runners and walkers.
The field includes working first responders running alongside the general public, which gives the morning a specific weight that most road races do not have. There is also a kids run on the schedule, so families tend to show up in numbers.
