About the Harvest Time Academy Glow in the Park 5k Run

This is an evening glow run through Ben Geren Park, so the course is dark by design. Costumes and glow-in-the-dark gear are encouraged, which shapes the crowd around you. There are distance options for serious runners and for families with kids, and the timed distance draws a competitive field alongside everyone else out for the atmosphere.

The event starts in the evening, so plan accordingly. Check-in opens well before the gun, giving you time to get your glow sorted before dark. Post-race awards go to top finishers across age categories, including overall male and female winners.

Common Questions About the Harvest Time Academy Glow in the Park 5k Run

Will I finish last at the Harvest Time Academy Glow in the Park 5k Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 39:16, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:04:23, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Harvest Time Academy Glow in the Park 5k Run a good first 5K?

It is a small race (57 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Harvest Time Academy Glow in the Park 5k Run?

The 5K winner ran 21:11 while the median finisher took 39:16. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
