About the Happy Valley Humdinger
The course runs point to point through Happy Valley, following the Yadkin River before finishing at a local filling station that doubles as the post-race gathering spot. Most of the route is on a quiet country road with light traffic, though it crosses a mowed grass field near the end. The valley terrain is gentle, and the pace tends to be honest.
Runners park at the start and shuttle back from the finish, so there is no doubling back on foot. The finish area has wood-fired pizza, craft beer on tap, and live music outside. A costume contest runs alongside the race, open to runners and spectators alike, with awards for adults and kids.

The Happy Valley Humdinger has been held every year since at least 2022. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
