About the Hampton Rotary Firecracker 5k Run / 1M Walk
The run travels through the park and loops around the high school, with one notable climb on a stretch called Topnick where a water station waits at the top. That hill is the part locals talk about, and walking it is perfectly normal. The walk stays flat, circles a recently refreshed pond, and works fine with a stroller.
Registration opens in the morning at the Alcoa Pavilion inside the park. After you finish, pizza and refreshments are set up close to the finish area, and there is a splash station for anyone who wants to cool off on a warm holiday morning.
