About the GWTC Pine Run 20K at Tall Timbers

The course runs through Tall Timbers research forest, which is otherwise closed to runners, so the terrain feels genuinely remote. Dirt trails and jeep roads roll through piney uplands and dip into lake bottomland. The hills are real, and the route doubles back on itself in places, so you pass familiar ground before a final descent toward the lake and a climb back out.

Packet pickup happens the evening before at an REI Co-op in Tallahassee, with race-morning pickup available for those who cannot make it. The start and finish are at the Beadel House on the research station grounds. After the race, music and refreshments are set up nearby.
