About the Grills Trail Run

The course runs almost entirely on single-track, with a stretch of wider trail breaking it up here and there. The longer option crosses into a neighboring preserve and follows riverfront trail, including wooden bridges over the water. Both routes start and finish at Grills Preserve, so you return to the same spot where the morning began.

Common Questions About the Grills Trail Run

Will I finish last at the Grills Trail Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 10K field finished slower than 1:06:57, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:45:45, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Grills Trail Run a good first 10K?

It is a small race (37 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 10K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Grills Trail Run?

The 10K winner ran 41:07 while the median finisher took 1:06:57. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
