About the Greenville Journal Run Downtown 5K
The course runs through downtown Greenville, so you get city streets rather than a trail or a park loop. It is a point-to-point or out-and-back through the heart of the urban core, which means buildings on both sides and pavement underfoot the whole way. The race has been going long enough that it draws a serious local field alongside plenty of recreational runners.
Packet pickup the day before is at a local running store on Augusta Street, with a second window the morning of the race inside the Courtyard hotel on Broad Street. Several parking garages are within a short walk of the start, including one right next to the hotel.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2026 results, this is a decent-sized field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Greenville Journal Run Downtown 5K has been held every year since at least 2018. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
