About the 16th Annual Great Pumpkin Race
The course mixes flat stretches with small rolling hills, which keeps it honest without being punishing. Costumes are encouraged, and enough people show up in them that it changes the feel of the whole start line. The race benefits a local school's parent-teacher organization and athletic programs, so the crowd tends to be deep in neighbors and families.
Packet pickup opens race day afternoon, so there is no need to make a separate trip beforehand. Parking is available in the church lot above the start, with street parking nearby if that fills.
