About the Gravy Chase

The Zionsville race winds through the historic downtown on Thanksgiving morning, starting near the Main Street corridor. The terrain is flat and urban, with storefronts and brick sidewalks for company. There are two course options, a shorter and a longer loop, so people run or walk whichever suits them. Dogs and strollers are both welcome, and the proceeds go to the local Boys and Girls Club.

Packet pickup is the evening before the race at the Boys and Girls Club Zionsville location on Mulberry Street. The start area is near Rosie's Place on Main Street, with a Boys and Girls Club tent there on race morning if you need help with your bib.

Finish-Time Stats

Common Questions About the Gravy Chase

Will I finish last at the Gravy Chase?

Almost certainly not. Half the 2 Miles field finished slower than 36:03, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:08:33, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Gravy Chase a good first 2 Miles?

With 1,593 finishers there are runners at every pace, so you are never out on your own. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 2 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Gravy Chase?

The 2 Miles winner ran 13:21 while the median finisher took 36:03. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
