About the Goldsboro Family YMCA Turkey Trot 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
The Goldsboro Family YMCA hosts this Thanksgiving morning race, with proceeds going toward the Y's community outreach programs. It runs on Thanksgiving Day, so the field tends to be families and friends out together before the holiday settles in. Once runners finish, the crowd sticks around to cheer the rest of the field across the line.
For those who cannot make it in person, there is a virtual option. Participants run wherever works for them, including a treadmill, and times submitted through the RaceJoy app feed into an online leaderboard, so the competitive side is still there if you want it.
