About the 22nd Annual Turkey Day 5K

The course starts and finishes at a Gold's Gym on Vann Drive, and the race benefits RIFA, a local organization working to address food insecurity in the area. It is a chip-timed run on Thanksgiving morning, drawing a sizable crowd of neighbors, families, and regulars who come back each year.

Packet pickup runs the evening before the race at the same Gold's Gym location, with a second window early on race morning. Bringing your registration confirmation speeds things up, and you can grab a packet on behalf of someone else if needed.

Common Questions About the 22nd Annual Turkey Day 5K

Will I finish last at the 22nd Annual Turkey Day 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 33:22, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:04:51, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the 22nd Annual Turkey Day 5K a good first 3.1 Miles?

With 871 finishers there are runners at every pace, so you are never out on your own. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the 22nd Annual Turkey Day 5K?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 16:57 while the median finisher took 33:22. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
