The route passes through a community college campus, cuts behind a football stadium, and winds through residential neighborhoods before hitting a main road and looping back to where it started. Roads stay open during the race, so runners yield to traffic along the way. Both distances share similar ground, giving the course a through-the-town character rather than a closed park loop.
