About the GMAA Turkey Trot 5K
The course is a loop on a college cross-country course, mixing cinder path, paved sections, and open grass with some narrow single-track stretches. The footing is generally good, though early-season snow or ice can change that quickly. It benefits a local food bank, and the start at the field house tends to draw a crowd.
Race-day registration opens at Gutterson Field House on the UVM campus a short while before the start. The entry is donation-based, with proceeds going to Feeding Chittenden. There is also a short kids' race on the adjacent fields just before the main event goes off.
