About the Girls on the Run Rio Grande 5K Celebration
The race is a celebration event tied to a girls' running program, held at Los Poblanos Open Space in Albuquerque. Community runners join the girls on the course as a show of support, not as competitors. The event is timed, but there are no awards, so the focus is entirely on the participants crossing the finish line after months of work.
Check-in is on the morning of the race only, so there is no packet pickup the day before. The atmosphere leans more toward celebration than competition, with community members running alongside the program's participants.
