About the Get Your Rear in Gear
The race is held at Sparks Marina Park, which gives the course a waterfront feel. The event is built around awareness of colorectal cancer, with proceeds supporting local screenings and patient resources. Survivors and patients run free. The finish line involves passing through a giant inflatable colon, which is exactly as memorable as it sounds.
Post-race, there is a barbecue grill raffle, and age group winners take home a pie. The park setting gives families room to spread out, and the kids dash adds something for younger attendees beyond just watching.

The Get Your Rear in Gear has been held every year since at least 2026. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Oct 25, 2026.
