About the GDTC Thanksgiving Turkey Trot

The course loops the residential roads around Beaver Lake on Thanksgiving morning, so most of what you see is quiet lakeside neighborhoods. The terrain is road, with some rolling stretches as the route circles the water. Snow is not unusual, and past years have seen flakes during the race itself, which changes the feel of the whole thing considerably.

Parking is at Pinkerton Academy, with shuttle buses running continuously to the start at Galliens Beach. Packet pickup happens at a local sports and rehab clinic the weekend before and again at the beach the evening before the race. Food donations for area pantries are part of the entry, and there is food and beverages at the finish.
