The race is hosted at Garmin's world headquarters and winds through streets and trails around Olathe. The event carries a Land of Oz theme, which gives it a distinct personality for a race that covers everything from a shorter run up through a full marathon.

Common Questions About the Garmin Olathe Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K

Will I finish last at the Garmin Olathe Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 13.1 Miles field finished slower than 2:11:43, and the last recorded finisher came in around 4:50:09, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Garmin Olathe Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K a good first 13.1 Miles?

With 1,410 finishers there are runners at every pace, so you are never out on your own. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 13.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Garmin Olathe Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K?

The 13.1 Miles winner ran 1:14:04 while the median finisher took 2:11:43. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
