About the Garden State 10 Miler & Cookie Chase 5k
The course runs through Colonial Park, giving it an open, park-road feel. The terrain is largely flat with enough gentle variation to keep it honest. The 5k has a costume element that brings a different crowd than the longer distance, and a youth fun run rounds out the morning. The race benefits local scholarships, run jointly by a running club and the township police.
Packet pickup runs the two days before at a running store in a neighboring town, with race-morning pickup available at the park. The relay exchange point is a short walk from the start. Post-race, the 5k finish has cookies on hand.
