About the Galveston Ultra Trail
The course runs along open beach the entire way, with hard-packed sand underfoot and the Gulf in view from start to finish. The longer point-to-point option crosses the length of the island, starting near one end and finishing at a central hub. Wind and tide shape the conditions, so the race can feel different each time out.
Parking is at East Beach and requires a paid venue pass per vehicle, so carpooling is worth planning ahead. Runners doing the point-to-point ultra board shuttle buses from the parking area to the far end of the island at the start; the buses run one way only, and a gear drop is available. The finish line has live music and food trucks on the beach.
