The Furry 5K is put on by a pre-veterinary student club and an agricultural autism advocacy group, which gives the morning a campus energy with a cause behind it. The course is rooted in the university community rather than a road-race circuit, so the crowd around you tends to be students, faculty, and people connected to both organizations.
