About the Frozen Sasquatch Trail 50k/25k
The course runs through Kanawha State Forest on trails the local running community tends to speak well of. The shorter distance does a single loop; the longer distance repeats it, so you come back through the same woods a second time, which changes how the second half feels. Winter conditions are part of the deal here, and the forest is dense enough that you are genuinely in the trees.
Packet pickup the evening before race day happens at a running shop in South Charleston, with a backup option at the forest pool parking lot on race morning. If you skip the pre-race pickup, leave yourself enough time at the lot before the start.
