About the Frosty 5K
The course runs through Frame Park and along the Fox River, doing a couple of loops before bringing you back to the finish. It is flat and quick, the kind of route where you can actually chase a fast time even in heavy layers. The surroundings are open enough that you feel the cold, but the river scenery gives you something to look at besides your own frozen breath.
This race is part of a larger winter festival that takes over Waukesha for the weekend, so the start area has more energy than a typical cold-weather morning. The festival runs well beyond the finish line, with activities spread across the city, so there is no particular reason to rush off after you run.
