About the Freedom Run 5K/10K
This race is put on by the Army ROTC program at a local university, and it raises money for cadet training and a scholarship honoring a former instructor who died in service. There is a standard running option, a walking-friendly version, and a weighted ruck division for those who want something harder. The ruck division has a weigh-in before and after, so bring your own loaded pack.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the Military Science building on campus, with race-morning pickup also available in the hour or so before the start. Parking is in a lot directly across from that building, so the walk to the start area is short.
