About the Free New Year's Day 5k by Chico Running Club
The course runs on the official Bidwell Park route, starting at Sycamore Field near Caper Acres. It is a timed run, so if you want to chase a goal on the first morning of the year, the clock is there for you. Prizes go to the top finishers, but plenty of people are just out to shake off the night before.
Coffee, hot chocolate, and donuts are waiting at the finish. The event is free, though a small donation helps cover the post-race spread. There are no bibs, so the start is loose and easy. Club gear is available to purchase on site.
