About the Bidwell Classic 5K, 10K and Half Marathon
The courses run through Bidwell Park, starting and finishing at the main recreation area near the park's lower end. The shorter distances stay on freshly paved, traffic-free paths. The half marathon adds a short stretch of single-track trail on each loop, which is the one place the footing changes. Overall the terrain is flat throughout, and the park surroundings make it a pleasant place to run.
Packet pickup is the evening before at Fleet Feet Chico on Main Street in downtown Chico, with a second window on race morning at the Fleet Feet tent near the start. The park is closed to vehicles on race day, so parking is along Woodland Avenue, which runs parallel to the park, with access points into the start area from there.
