About the Freaky Friday 8K Run
The course runs in the dark, which is the whole point. It is an evening race through what the organizers describe as scenic but unsettling terrain, and runners are encouraged to show up in costume. There is a costume contest before the start, so the staging area has more going on than most race mornings.
Packet pickup the evening before is at Dreamland Barbecue, which is also where the post-race celebration lands. Food, drinks, and craft beer are there after you finish, along with a live local radio presence. The barbecue spot doubles as the social hub for the whole event.
