About the Fostering 5K
The Fostering 5K is a charity race in Jacksonville that benefits The Fostering Collective, an organization supporting foster, adoptive, and kinship families. There is also a kids dash on the schedule, so the morning draws families alongside runners. The cause is local and specific, which gives the start line a different feeling than most weekend races.
Race-morning packet pickup and check-in open before the start, with a brief welcome ceremony and opening remarks before the first runners go. The schedule notes it is subject to change at the race director's call, so it is worth keeping an eye on any updates closer to the event.

Fostering 5K 2025 Results
Going by the 2025 results, this is a small, friendly field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Fostering 5K has been held every year since at least 2024. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Oct 18, 2026.
