The course runs through Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary, moving between wooded paths, open fields, and a stretch with views across Sengekontacket Pond. Pine needle trails give way to sections of goldenrod, and the terrain shifts enough to keep it interesting. The sanctuary is active with birds, so it is worth slowing down a little even mid-race.
