About the FOLEPI River Trail Classic
The FOLEPI River Trail Classic follows the river trail in East Peoria, and the point-to-point layout means runners take a bus to the start rather than walking out from the finish area. That detail alone gives the morning a bit of an expedition feel. The course runs back toward the finish, so there is no looping back over ground you have already covered.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the park district administrative center, with race-morning pickup available before the buses leave for the start. After finishing, the post-race party moves to a local pizzeria, which makes for a comfortable end to the morning.
