About the 4th Annual First Street Beer Mile
The course runs along First Street through downtown Cleveland, turning at Ocoee Street and looping back to Church Street. Runners do several laps, and each one starts with a full can of Blackhorse Pub and Brewery beer consumed in a designated drinking area outside Mash & Hops before the running begins. Awards go to the fastest runners and the fastest drinkers.
Packet pickup is at Mash & Hops on race morning, and you will need a valid ID to verify you are of legal drinking age. The organizers suggest not eating heavily beforehand and hydrating well the day before. If your stomach turns against you mid-race, there are containers at the beer stations.
